Versatility of the MOP Platform

Combined Therapeutics has designed a flexible and versatile Multi-Organ Protection (MOP) Platform that utilizes miRNA binding sites in the 3’ UTR of mRNA to reduce off target protein expression for mRNA vaccines or therapeutics. By evaluating cells and tissues from mice, non-human primates, and humans, CTx has built an understanding of the miRNA present in the major organs of the body. This allows for a MOP to be designed that targets only specific organs. For example, for a prophylactic vaccine a MOP may be designed with 3 miRNA binding sequences to allow for antigen expression solely at the site of injection and prevent off-target expression in the liver, kidney, heart, lung, and brain.
